In an interview with CIO Applications, Alfred Cheung, CEO and Founder of GoodMojo speaks about how his company leaves an impact on the lives of people in the community.
Give us a brief overview of your company.
GoodMojo is building a network of smart communities with major cities and counties throughout the country to implement technology that manages the effective and efficient delivery of a wide variety of social programs. Our work with government agencies makes us knowledgeable about the complexities of program delivery and the lack of appropriate tools and processes most entities have to cost effectively deliver those services. Our core goal of putting people first led us to leverage technology that organizes knowledge of social programs. Having found that mismatched toolsets and approaches reduced the effectivity of certain solutions, we created an ecosystem of toolsets to manage social impact initiatives. We are therefore able to connect government agencies with foundations, non-profit organizations, individuals, and businesses to improve the effectiveness of their programs and ultimately, improve the living conditions and economic state of the people in the communities being served.
In addition, we worked with the recipients of services to understand their needs and created a platform, pioneering CBaaS—Community Building as a Service, which has grown into an ecosystem. Service recipients use this platform to connect with services provided from government agencies, non-profits or businesses that meet their needs and interact with them, which translate to real-life impact on the community.
We pioneered Community Building as a Service (CBaaS), connecting siloed communities into a modern integrated SaaS platform
The GoodMojo platform consists of several components that aid customers in procuring the right providers, and assists them throughout the journey of negotiating contracts and managing programs to ensure that they are executed seamlessly. On the operational front, the efficiency gain is not limited to government programs but extend to non-profit organizations that execute or deliver services. GoodMojo also aids such institutions in meeting compliance regulations by reducing their resource burden. This helps non-profit organizations in becoming more mission-focused and delivering more services to individuals.
Our platform acts as a digital concierge that helps individuals in coordinating services across departments and associations holistically. The system helps in finding housing, job training, and placements, as well as childcare, education or after-school programs as needed.
Tell us how you understand client requirements and improve your platform to accommodate them best.

Our clients can thus focus on the quality of service delivered, which leads to the building of stronger communities.
The GoodMojo platform can handle many different concurrent coordinated programs with multiple funding sources. We understand our clients’ needs and strive to meet and exceed those requirements. We aid clients in increasing the efficiency of their procurement process. At the same time, our platform manages a combined $2.75 billion financial and program portfolio of clients.
